On Tuesday, February 27, 2018, NIPSCO announced nearly $6 million electric system upgrades to be constructed in Kingsbury Industrial Park. The project is expected to be completed in December 2018. These upgrades include approximately 15 miles of overhead electric transmission and distribution lines, and 395 wooden poles along 5th Line Road. These infrastructure improvements will modernize the natural gas and electrical system to maintain safety and reliability in the future. The continued improvement to Kingsbury Industrial Park provides more opportunities for future development, as well as strengthens current businesses and industries.

NIPSCO expects minimal service interruptions during the work and will notify customers if a planned outage is needed. All work will occur between Monday and Friday during normal business hours. NIPSCO will contact property owners regarding obstructions in utility easements, such as fences and landscaping, that present a challenge for construction.
